Delaware women’s tennis team blanks Lafayette
UD senior Liz Perlow won in singles and doubles in the victory over Lafayette.
8:28 a.m., April 3, 2007--The University of Delaware women's tennis team defeated host Lafayette College 7-0 on Monday afternoon.

The Fightin' Blue Hens won all six singles matches, including a 6-3, 6-3 victory by freshman Elena Berry over Danielle Bailey at No. 1 singles. Berry is now 2-0 on the season at No. 1 singles.

In other singles action, Amanda Campbell defeated Julia Strang 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2, Liz Perlow defeated Ansley Scudder 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3, Alexa Dragonette defeated Sarah Sykes 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 and Brittany Barsky posted her 45th career singles win by defeated Nancy Parker 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5. UD's Laura Honig rounded out the singles sweep by posting a 6-1, 7-6 (4) win over Jacqui Bonder at No 6.

In doubles action, Berry and Campbell teamed up to down Bailey and Scudder 8-2 at No. 1. Lafayette then picked up its lone win of the day at No. 2 doubles, where Strang and Sykes defeated Dragonette and Julie Schiller 8-4. The Hens earned the doubles point when Perlow and Barsky defeated Parker and Bonder 8-4 at No. 3.

UD will return home for a pair of Colonial Athletic Association matches at the Delaware Field House tennis courts. The Hens will meet George Mason University at noon, Friday, April 6, and Drexel University at 2:30 p.m., Monday, April 9.
