UD student stabbed during scuffle at Galleria

11:02 a.m., April 19, 2007--A 21-year-old University of Delaware student was stabbed in the wrist during a physical altercation at 1:30 a.m., Thursday, April 19, on the second floor of the Galleria on Main Street, according to Newark Police.

Police said they responded to a report of a disturbance there, found the student with a wound to his left wrist and identified the suspect.

Police said they have arrested Jason Vogel, 25, of the unit block of Timber Creek Lane, Newark, and charged him with assault in the second degree in the incident. Police said Vogel was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 11.

The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital by Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Co. ambulance and was treated and released.
