Talk on 'Travel in an Age of Uncertainty' set April 19

3:20 p.m., April 13, 2007--Fred DeMicco, ARAMARK chairperson and professor in UD's department of hotel, restaurant and institutional management, along with Marvin J. Cetron, president of Forecasting International, a trend-spotting firm, will talk about staying safe while traveling in a lecture set for 4-5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 19, in 203 Munroe Hall.

Part of the Risk! Interdisciplinary Seminar Series, the talk, “From Armani to Armor: Hotels and Travel in an Age of Uncertainty” is sponsored by UD's Center for Material Culture Studies and is intended for a broad audience of business, educational and leisure travelers.

DeMicco and Cetron will discuss travel and terrorism trends and outline measures travelers can take to journey more safely. They also will touch on why the hospitality industry--hotels and restaurants, in particular--are so frequently the targets of terrorist attacks.

The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, e-mail [mohun@udel.edu].
