UD announces $1,000 reward in robbery case

5:14 p.m., April 20, 2007--The University of Delaware has offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons involved in a strong-arm robbery that occurred on the campus Wednesday, April 11.

Between 9:40 and 10:30 p.m., that day, a male student was assaulted and robbed by a group of six or seven men near the southern end of the Independence Bridge at the intersection of North College Avenue and Ray Street.

The student suffered contusions to the back of his head and the side of his face, along with lacerations to his face, ears and lips. He was taken to the emergency department at Christiana Hospital for treatment and returned to his residence hall early on April 12. His cell phone, car keys, residence hall key and cash were stolen.
