Summer Faculty Institute proposals due May 1

5:25 p.m., April 25, 2007--Faculty can explore the connections between multimedia, teaching and learning at this year's Summer Faculty Institute scheduled for June 18-22. The Institute is an excellent professional development opportunity for faculty, available on campus at no charge.

The weeklong program requires faculty to complete a competitive application, which is posted at [www.udel.edu/present/summer/application.html].

Faculty who make a commitment to the weeklong program will receive a technology bundle--either an Apple MacBook Pro or Gateway Tablet PC--including accessories and software. The technology bundle will be the property of the faculty member's department.

These requirements support the institute's mission to assist UD faculty who teach in enhancing student learning through the appropriate use of technology. Institute alumni are recognized as Faculty Fellows and are expected to be available to mentor colleagues, to participate in the development of an instructional project of their choosing and to present the results of their project at a future faculty institute.

The application deadline is Tuesday, May 1. Based on the applications accepted, institute objectives and sessions will be created to ensure everyone's interests are addressed. The maximum number of participants in the weeklong program is 30.
