Hen men’s lacrosse to face Drexel in CAA play

9:32 a.m., April 30, 2007--The University of Delaware men's lacrosse team closed regular season play with a 19-4 victory over host Robert Morris University on Saturday afternoon.

The Fightin' Blue Hens now turn their attention to the Colonial Athletic Association championship tournament, in which they will face host Drexel University in a game to be played at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, in Philadelphia.

The Hens finished the season 9-5 overall and 4-2 in the CAA, and enter the tournament as the third seed, while Drexel is 11-4 overall and 5-1 in the conference, and is the second seed. Drexel defeated UD 11-7 in a game played April 7 in Philadelphia.

In the other CAA semifinal game, top seed Towson University will meet fourth seed Hofstra University at Towson.

The championship game will be played Saturday night, May 5, at the home of the highest remaining seed.

In the game against Robert Morris, the Hens got three goals from Nick LoManto and two each from Adam Zuder-Havens, Curtis Dickson, Andrew Unthank, Marty Kupprion and Martin Cahill. Also scoring single goals were Dan Deckelbaum, J.J. Moran, Chris Hichborn, Phil Rollins, Brian Calabrese and Kevin Filippone. Kevin Kaminski had two assists.

UD goalkeeper Tommy Scherr had one save and Warren Mayberry had six.
