March of Dimes walk at UD April 29

2:36 p.m., April 4, 2007--Be a hero for the tiniest babies by joining UD's WalkAmerica team on Sunday, April 29, to raise money for the Delaware chapter of the March of Dimes. Team UD is looking for members of the UD community to participate in the walk and serve as captains.

Registration for the family-oriented fundraiser begins at 9 a.m., and walkers step off at 10 a.m. from the Delaware Field House.

March of Dimes incentives for members of Team UD include live music with appearances by YoUDee and WSTW radio personalities.

This year's six-mile walk also will feature the usual attractions for kids, including the moonbounce in the Field House parking lot and complimentary snacks and lunch, as well as kids' activities' tables sponsored by Kappa Alpha Theta, Zeta Sigma and Alpha Phi Omega. Strollers and dogs on leashes also are welcome, as are rollerblades, provided that protective gear is worn. An opportunity to be photographed with Team UD also will be offered at 9:45 a.m., near the stage.

Brochures with registration information are available for pickup at the Trabant University Center, Perkins Student Center, Carpenter Sports Building, Employee Wellness Center, Clayton Hall, the Bob Carpenter Center and other campus locations.
