UD’s Ryan Iversen to resign coaching position
Ryan Iversen will step down as an assistant men’s basketball coach.
11:14 a.m., April 13, 2007--University of Delaware men's basketball assistant coach Ryan Iversen, a popular former Fightin' Blue Hens player, will resign his position in early May to return to his native Minnesota.

Iversen, a 2003 graduate of UD, recently completed his second season as assistant coach. He missed most of the 2006-07 season after suffering acute compartment syndrome as the result of an injury in December. Since, he has undergone three surgeries.

Iversen was a three-year standout for the Hens from 2000-2003 after transferring from the University of Minnesota. He averaged 9.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 88 career games, and his 506 career rebounds are the most ever by a UD guard.

Iversen, 27, graduated from UD as an international business major with a concentration in international economics. He played professionally for the Knox Raiders in Melbourne, Australia, in 2004, when he was one of the leading scorers in the South East Australian Basketball League. Iversen then worked as a sales executive for Colima Development Corp. in Minneapolis before accepting the position as assistant coach.
