UD golf team eighth at Bradford Creek tourney

8:07 a.m., April 4, 2007--University of Delaware senior Joe McLister finished three under par to lead the Fightin' Blue Hens golf team to an eighth place finish at the Bradford Creek Intercollegiate Golf Tournament hosted by East Carolina University Monday and Tuesday in Greenville, N.C.

After shooting team scores of 295 and 285 on Monday, the Blue Hens shot a 289 on Tuesday to finish in eighth place in the 15-team field with a five over par score of 869.

After shooting two rounds of even par 72 on Monday, McLister recorded a three under par 69 on Tuesday, his school-record eighth career round in the 60s. McLister, who finished in 12th place with a three under par 213, has now posted the lowest score for the Hens in three straight tournaments and in seven of 10 events this season.

Jason Bernstein tied for 26th place as he shot 217, while Josh Williamowsky shot 219 to finish tied for 33rd. Tommy Ellison tied for 55th place after shooting 224 and Jeff Griest tied for 62nd as he shot 226.

UD will return to action Friday and Saturday, April 6-7, in the Navy Invitational at the U.S. Naval Academy golf course.
