Delaware baseball team defeats LaSalle 6-1
UD starting pitcher Todd Ozog worked out of a first inning jam and got the win against LaSalle.
8:16 a.m., April 25, 2007--The University of Delaware baseball team defeated LaSalle University 6-1 in a nonconference game played Tuesday afternoon at Bob Hannah Stadium.

With the victory, the Fightin' Blue Hens improved to 16-18 on the season. They will return to action with a Colonial Athletic Association weekend series at Northeastern University. The team will meet at 2 p.m., Friday, April 27, at noon, Saturday, April 28, and at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, April 29.

The Hens escaped early trouble against LaSalle when the Explorers loaded the bases with one out in the first inning but were unable to score. UD pitcher Todd Ozog, who earned the win to improve to 2-3, struck out two batters to get out of the jam.

The Hens then responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, with Alex Buchholz hitting a single to drive in Brandon Menchaca. Menchaca had walked and stole second base, leading to an error that brought on Ryan Jablonski.

Both Menchaca and Adam Tsakonas hit home runs to extend the UD lead. Tsakonas and Danny Overcash hit doubles.
