UD cross country teams compete in regionals

10:57 a.m., Nov. 14, 2005--The University of Delaware men’s cross country team finished 12th and the women’s team 16th at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals held Saturday morning at Lehigh University.

P.J. Meany led the UD men, finishing 12th in the 10-kilometer race in 30:48.9.

Brad Dodson finished 57th in 31:53.0. Kyle Schmid 67th in 32:11.6, Sam MacKenzie 69th in 32:13.3, Tyler Mayforth 104th in 32:49.0, Kevin DuPrey 105th in 32:49.7 and Mike Ward p168th in 35:07.5.

Colleen O’Brien led the UD women, finishing 14th in the six-kilometer race in 21:08.1.

Julia Somers finished 46th in 21:55.4, Jessica Leitsch 106th in 23:16.7, Liz Paul 128th in 23:40.3, Renee Gresh 132nd in 23:42.4, Allison Behrle 143rd in 23:59.0 and Brooke MaGuire 147th in 24:18.7.

Georgetown University won the men’s championship and Princeton University the women’s title.

Both UD cross country teams will return to action Saturday, Nov. 19, in the Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America (IC4A) Championships at Van Cortlandt State Park in New York, N.Y.
