Rideshare Delaware offers commuting alternatives

Those who work in Delaware can get help online at [www.tmadelaware.org/rsd/guidelines], RideShare Delaware. It's the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDot) and the Transportation Management Association of Delaware (TMA) rideshare web site, and on it, anyone who works in Delaware can fill out an application to find appropriate rideshare services, including car and van pooling, mass transportation, biking or walking to work. To get a personalized rideshare match list, click on the “submit your online application” near the bottom of the RideShare Delaware home page or call 1-888-RIDE-MATCH. The web site also has information about the RideShare Home Free Guarantee program that provides a free ride home via taxi, rental car or shuttle in the event of a personal or family emergency or illness, unscheduled overtime or if a rideshare driver has to leave unexpectedly. Those who register for the RideShare program receive a Home Free Guarantee packet that includes a trip voucher, a list of participating service providers and program guidelines. When an emergency ride home is needed, just call the participating service provider and give them the voucher.
