9:18 a.m., Jan. 23, 2006--A 17-year-old Newark resident was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 22, for two armed robberies that occurred on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 20 and 21, at the Christina Mills Apartment Complex on Elkton Road in Newark.

Around 9:15 p.m., Jan. 20, two suspects confronted a Pizza Hut driver after making a delivery on the 500 block of Christina Mill Drive. Around 9 p.m., Jan. 21, a Pat's Pizzeria driver reported a robbery while making a delivery in the 1200 block of Christina Mill Drive. In both robberies, a semiautomatic handgun was displayed and money was demanded from the victims. During the course of the second robbery, the suspect carjacked the victim and fled the scene in the victim's vehicle.

The vehicle was located a short time later by the Newark Police Special Operations Unit in Elkton, Md., and the operator was taken into custody. He was later charged with two counts of first degree robbery, two counts of conspiracy, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony and carjacking, in addition to possession of a stolen vehicle. The suspect is incarcerated at the Cecil County Detention Center, awaiting extradition to Delaware.
