2:09 p.m., Dec. 20, 2005--Faculty and student members of the Beta Xi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, UD’s nursing honor society, played Santa’s helpers on Dec. 13 to clients of Upper Bay Counseling and Support Services (UBCSS), the largest provider of mental health services in Cecil County, Md.

Donating their time and resources to improve the holidays for those who attend the SHARE day program at UBCSS, honor society members spent the afternoon wrapping presents and stuffing 150 gift bags with greeting cards and various gift certificates from local stores. SHARE provides assistance to adults with chronic mental illness to increase their ability to cope with mental health symptoms and stressors while remaining in a community setting.
