FSA enrollment continues through Dec. 16

6:09 p.m., Dec. 12, 2005--The enrollment period for 2006 Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) continues through Friday, Dec. 16, for eligible UD employees. The FSA Enrollment Form is available online at [www.udel.edu/hr/enroll.htm].

FSAs are voluntary accounts through which you can set aside pre-tax dollars to cover out-of-pocket health care and day care expenses. Visit the Office of Human Resources at [www.udel.edu/hr] for details about FSAs and enrollment.

Keep these facts in mind when deciding how much to set aside in your FSA:

  • The maximum annual amount you can contribute is $3,000 for the Health Care Account and $5,000 per family for the Dependent Day Care Account;
  • FSAs do not automatically continue from year to year. You must re-enroll each year to continue your participation;
  • The plan year for FSAs is January through December; and
  • Jan. 1 of each year is the date when the Express Scripts prescription drug formulary is revised. The list includes both generic and brand name drugs. Please keep in mind how changes to the formulary may affect your out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs in the coming year. Information about the 2006 formulary is available on the Office of Human Resources web site at [www.udel.edu/hr].

The Human Resources staff is available to help with any questions you have about FSA enrollment. You can reach a benefits representative by calling (302) 831-2171 or e-mailing [ben-serv@udel.edu].
