UD women's lacrosse falls to Princeton, 14-9

UD senior Megan Hager scored four goals in her final game as a Fightin’ Blue Hen.

1:24 p.m., April 26, 2006--Playing its last game of the season, the University of Delaware women's lacrosse team fell 14-9 to No. 14-ranked Princeton University on Tuesday evening at Princeton's Class of 1952 Stadium. Princeton led by just 8-7 at the break but pulled away in the second half to secure the victory.

UD senior attack Megan Hager had a strong game in her last appearance for the Fightin' Blue Hens, scoring four goals. Freshman midfielder Alexis Curcio scored two goals and freshman attack Lindyn Soviero had one goal and one assist. Sophomore attack Casey McCrudden, who finished the season as UD's leading scorer with 46 points, scored one goal and freshman midfielder Amanda Lahiff tallied the second goal of her career.

Seniors Laura Libertini and Kristin Cellucci had one assist each, while senior Diana Hall caused a team-high three turnovers and senior Lauren Carrigan had a game-high six ground balls. In goal, Jessica Cerveny had two saves and Suzy Herlihy had six.

With the loss, the Hens ended the season 5-12.
