In Memoriam 2:49 p.m., April 13, 2006--David W. Just, 44, of Bayard, died Monday, April 10. Born in Philadelphia, on Oct. 11, 1961, Mr. Just graduated from the University of Delaware in 1985, with a bachelor's degree in education. He also was a varsity member of the UD baseball team and later played semi-professional baseball in Cecil Country, Md., where he was named the league's most valuable player in 1986. Mr. Just began his 17-year teaching career at St. Mark's High School in Wilmington and continued as an educator in the Red Clay School District. He received a master's degree in education from Wilmington College in 2000. He was most recently employed as a reading specialist at the Laurel Intermediate School in the Laurel School District. He was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Ocean City, Md. An avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, Mr. Just enjoyed bass fishing, golf and walking his pet Labrador retrievers, Buddy and Magic. Mr. Just is survived by his wife, Maria Simeone Just; his daughter, Brianna Brennan, of Coshocton, Ohio; parents, William R. Just and Barbara Diehl Just, of Newark; his brother, Richard Just, of Newark; and his sister, Kristin J. Livingston, and her husband, James V. Livingston, of Stow, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 15, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 525 Polly Drummond Hill Rd., Newark, where friends may call after noon. Internment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
