Chinese Film Festival set April 22-24

4:36 p.m., April 14, 2006--A film festival with screenings of five internationally acclaimed movies will be held at UD from April 22-24 to celebrate the centennial of Chinese film. Sponsored by UD's Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, East Asian Studies and the Center for International Studies.

Hero will be shown at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, April 22, in 206 Kirkbride Lecture Hall, followed at 7:30 p.m. with a lecture by screenwriter Wang Bin on “The Fifth Generation Filmmakers And The Future Of Chinese Films.”

A screening of A World without Thieves will be held at 5 p.m., Sunday, April 23, in 116 Purnell Hall. At 7:30 p.m., Pushing Hands will be shown in 116 Purnell Hall.

At 5 p.m., Monday, April 24, Road Home will be screened in 130 Smith Hall. At 7:30 p.m., Together will be shown in 130 Smith Hall.
