Asian and gay in the NFL talk set May 3
3:27 p.m., April 27, 2006--Esera Tuaolo, a former linebacker in the National Football League (NFL), will talk about his struggle as an Asian and gay professional football player at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 3, in 140 Smith Hall. Tuaolo was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1990. While in the NFL, Tuaolo said he had to hide his sexuality and led a double life. Tuaolo's book, Alone in the Trenches, tells his story and warns that “hate in any form is wrong.” For more information on Tuaolo, visit [www.eseratuaolo.com]. Sponsored by East and Southeast Asian Union, Haven, Asian Heritage Council of the Office of Multicultural Programs, Resident Student Association and the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Office, the lecture is free and open to the public.
