Install RealPlayer security upgrade

1:28 p.m., Oct. 12, 2004--User Services advises all Windows and Macintosh OS X computer users who have installed RealPlayer software, used to play courseware and other streaming video over the UD network, to update their version of the software.

“Older versions of RealPlayer have a security vulnerability that could allow hackers to spread a worm or take control of users’ computers,” Janet de Vry, manager, IT-User Services, said.

“This vulnerability is found in all older versions of RealPlayer, including those versions that operate on Macintosh OS X computers. Users should immediately install the new version,” de Vry said.
