UD’s Royal Palm Steel Band fills the air with music at the Parents and Family Weekend tailgate party.
1:44 p.m., Oct. 28, 2004--Crisp, sunny October weather; two sold-out campus ghost tours Friday night by local author Ed Okonowicz and historian Mike Dixon; a family tailgate luncheon behind the stadium, serenaded by the UD Marching Band; an exciting, cliff-hanger gridiron victory over William & Mary; a capstone concert, Calliope IX, showcasing UD’s talented, diverse music groups—all combined to make Parents and Family Weekend a wonderful success, according to Nancy Millard, assistant director of Alumni Relations.

“Families and students seemed to be having a great time together enjoying the many activities planned for their special weekend,” she said, “and it also was an opportunity for UD’s Parents Board to meet.”
