4:38 p.m., Nov. 10, 2004--UD’s Department of Music Opera Workshop presents Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill: A Musical Voyage at 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, and again at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.

The program features the songs and life story of German-born composer Weill, who, after achieving fame in the Berlin musical theater during the 1930s, became one of America’s most successful and versatile writers of Broadway musicals.

More than three dozen songs from The Threepenny Opera, Lady In The Dark, One Touch Of Venus, and Lost in the Stars will be performed, including such classics as “Mack the Knife,” “Bilbao Song,” “My Ship,” “September Song” and “Speak Low.”

Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for students.
