Geib, Warrington selected NFHCA All-Americans

Leah Geib
9:16 a.m., Nov. 29, 2004--Two University of Delaware field hockey players, senior tri-captain Leah Geib and sophomore Amanda Warrington, have been named second team STX National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Americans.

Geib was named first team NFHCA All-Region and second team All-Colonial Athletic Association, and was selected CAA All-Tournament. She represented UD in the North-South Senior All-Star Game.

Geib had seven goals and seven assists this season. In the CAA tournament semifinals, she scored UD’s first goal against conference power Old Dominion University to tie the game 1-1 and send it into overtime. UD went on to win that game and the conference title.

Amanda Warrington
Geib started all 84 games in her four-year career, a record she shares with fellow senior tri-captain Erica LaBar.

Warrington was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Year and the outstanding performer in the conference championship tournament. She was selected first team All-CAA and first team NFHCA All-Region.

Warrington scored 10 goals and had four assists this season. She scored the first goal of the game in the NCAA Division I tournament contest against the University of Maryland, which UD lost 5-2. Warrington has started all 45 games of her collegiate career.
