3 Fightin Blue Hens sign with NFL teams 11:15 a.m., April 27, 2005--Three members of the 2004 University of Delaware football team have signed free agent contracts with National Football League teams after the annual college draft. Cornerback and kick returner Sidney Haugabrook has signed with the Tennessee Titans, linebacker Mondoe Davis has signed with the New York Jets and defensive lineman Chris Mooney has signed with the New York Giants. Haugabrook was a consensus All-American, having been named to the first team by the American Football Coaches Association and the Walter Camp Football Foundation and to the second team by the Associated Press and the Sports Network. He also was selected to compete in the East-West Shrine Game. Both Davis and Mooney were named first team All-Atlantic 10 Football Conference and first team All-East, and Mooney was named third team All-American by the Sports Network. Last year, two Hens were taken in the sixth round of the NFL draft and another signed a free agent contract. Quarterback Andy Hall was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles and spent the season on their practice squad. He is now playing with the Rhein Fire in NFL Europe. Defensive end Shawn Johnson was selected by the Oakland Raiders and spent much of the season on the practice squad of the Tennessee Titans. Defensive back Mike Adams signed as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers, was activated late in the season and had an interception in a game against the Miami Dolphins.
