Lynch, Miller, OConnor honored by IWLCA
The three Fightin Blue Hens were among 152 scholar-athletes nationally who achieved a grade point average of 3.2 or higher for the spring semester. The list includes IWLCA Scholar-Athlete of the Year Courtney Koester of NCAA Division I national champion Northwestern University. Lynch, a senior midfielder, achieved a 3.33 grade point average as an exercise physiology major. She was one of the Hens' top defensive players in 2005, playing in 15 games with 14 starts. She had 28 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers.Miller, a junior attack, earned a 3.407 grade point average as a women's studies major. She had 15 goals and nine assists, scoring a season-high three goals in a mid-season win over Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) foe James Madison University. She also had 14 ground balls and 13 draw controls. O'Connor, a team co-captain and senior defender, achieved a 3.45 grade point average as a communications major with a minor in political science. A second-team All-CAA selection, she had 17 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers.Lynch, Miller and O'Connor helped lead UD to a record of 8-8 and a berth in the CAA semifinals in 2005.
