Bookstore display offers student room decor tips
The bed is covered with basics such as a mattress pad, sheets, pillow and a University of Delaware blanket--to guarantee a nights sound sleep. The wardrobe features hanging shoe holders, shower buckets, hangers and baskets for storage to keep belongings in order. Shower curtains and approved suction wall hooks and hangers also are available. Small bookcases and boxes, bed risers, electric fans, touch lights and desk supplies are the key for a night of studying. Beyond the essentials are exercise videos, mirrors, phones, rugs, floor cushions and more. We did a similar but smaller display last year, and it was very successful, Jennifer Galt, bookstore manager, said. We decided to enlarge the room setting this year and placed all the merchandise around the display so parents and students can easily pick up what they want without having to look for it. With DelaWorld orientation for freshman and transfer students under way, the display already has attracted attention and sales from incoming students and parents, Galt said. The University Bookstore is open during the summer from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Article by Leah Conway, AS 06 To learn how to subscribe to UDaily, click here. |
