Ballroom dance classes set for fall

1:26 p.m., Sept. 7, 2004--Starting Sunday, Sept. 12, instruction in ballroom dancing will be offered to University and community members in 10-week classes taught by members of UD’s Ballroom Dance Team.

The 50-minute classes, which are offered at 7 and 8 p.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays (beginning Sept. 14) and Thursdays (beginning Sept. 16), cater to different skill and interest levels, and are designed to teach or perfect basic ballroom dance steps. The foxtrot, rumba, tango, swing, cha-cha and waltz are among the dances covered, and private lessons and wedding choreography also are available upon request.

Fees are $40 for full-time students and $70 for all others. Participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes early on the first evening of class to register. No partner is necessary, and dance students are asked to wear soft-soled shoes to class. For more information, visit [www.udel.edu/dance].
