Bruce Bruce comedy show set Oct. 2

11:42 a.m., Sept. 23, 2004--Comedian Bruce Bruce will be the featured performer at UD’s annual Homecoming comedy show at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, in Mitchell Hall. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Often described as “the mayor of comedy,” Bruce received the highest ratings ever when he hosted BET’s (Black Entertainment Television) 10th anniversary Comic View program in 2001. He also is featured as Dewayne, the good natured rent-a-cop in the Lion’s Gate Films feature The Wash, directed by DJ Pooh and starring Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

The Atlanta, Ga., native also was featured at the prestigious Black Film Festival in Acapulco (2000), the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal (2001-02), Laffapolooza Festival in Atlanta (2000-01) and the 2001-02 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Col. His half-hour comedy special, Comedy Central Presents, can be seen on cable’s Comedy Central.

Tickets for students are $13 in advance and $15 at the door (two tickets per UD ID allowed, with one ticket at the reduced price of $13). General admission tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
