Welsh Tract Road Bridge over I-95 to closed for repairs

3:06 p.m., March 2, 2005--The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced that it will close the bridge on Welsh Tract Road that goes over I-95 for 60 days, beginning March 1. The bridge will be closed for deck rehabilitation, bridge painting, and drainage replacements. The work on this bridge will result in a total closure on Welsh Tract Road, and some shoulder and lane closures on I-95 during off-peak hours.

Motorists should use caution when traveling through this area over the next two months and allow for extra time to reach their destination.

Motorists will be asked to use Otts Chapel Road and Old Baltimore Pike as a detour route.

Eastern Highway Specialists Inc. will be doing the work. The project will cost approximately $331,000.
