Campus shuttle bus system overview
Scheduled stops begin at 7:11 a.m. on weekdays. Late-night weekend routes run until 4 a.m. A special shopping express runs from noon-3:55 p.m., Saturdays. With 800,000 riders each year, University buses are a prime way students make it across campus. Central campus buses run every 8 minutes during the weekday morning rush hours of 7 a.m.-2 p.m. and every 15 minutes from 2-7 p.m. From 7-10 p.m., theres a bus every 45 minutes, and after 10 p.m. there are buses hourly. Other regular routes collect riders from as far as Towne Court Apartments on Elkton Road and Apartments at Pine Brook on Paper Mill Road. University Transportation Services also operates Unicity, the bus system funded by the City of Newark. Unicity offers additional off-campus routes through the city from 7:20 a.m.-5:55 p.m. weekdays. Campus bus schedules are available at Perkins Student Center, Trabant University Center, at the Morris Library and on some buses. They also are available online at [www.udel.edu/bus]. Students who have questions or problems can e-mail Jim Crowe, manager of Transportation Services, at [bus@udel.edu]. Crowe said every complaint is investigated and answered. He has a tip for students who ride the buses during peak hours: Make sure you are at your stop on time. And, if your regular bus is always full, consider moving your schedule up eight minutes so you can catch the previous bus and be certain to get to class on time.
