Top skaters to preview world-class skills

Kimmie Meissner, 2005 Senior Ladies Bronze medalist and a 2005 Junior World competitor
11:38 a.m., Feb. 1, 2005--This year’s U.S. World Figure Skating Send-off Exhibition, set for 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18, at the Fred Rust Ice Arena, will feature several star competitors who train at UD.

The program, which will preview routines planned for the 2005 U.S. World Figure Skating Championships in Moscow, will showcase the talents of skaters who train at UD, including Kimmie Meissner, Shaun Rogers, Tiffany Scott and Philip Dulebohn, and Christine Zukowski plus Natalya Gudina and Alexi Beletsky, who will be representing Israel at the world championship, and many others.

Meissner is the 2005 Senior Ladies Bronze medalist and a 2005 Junior World competitor, and, of her performance at Nationals, Sports Illustrated wrote, “Daring 15-year-old Kimmie Meissner almost stole the show.”

Rogers is a 2005 Junior World competitor. Pair skaters Scott and Dulebohn are the 2005 Pewter Medalists and 2003 Gold Medalists; and Zukowski is the 2005 Silver Medalist in the Junior Ladies competition.

Tickets are $12 for the general public and $10 for senior citizens, children 12 and under, UD faculty and staff and groups of 10 or more, and may be purchased at UD box offices at the Bob Carpenter Center and Trabant University Center or through Ticketmaster. Tickets also will be sold at the arena the day of the show.

The News Journal and WJBR (99.5 FM) are sponsors of the exhibition. For more information about the Feb. 18 exhibition, call (302) 831-2868. To purchase tickets, call (302) UD1-HENS.
