Delaware’s Riley second in IC4A championship race

9:31 a.m., Nov. 24, 2003--University of Delaware cross country standout Patrick Riley finished second in the Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes in America (IC4A) championship race held Saturday at Van Cortlandt State Park in the Bronx.

The UD men’s team finished 10th in the IC4A Championship race, and the women’s team finished 11th in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) university race.

Riley, a senior, finished with a time of 25:06, eight seconds behind Yale's Casey Moriarty. Kevin DuPrey was Delaware's only other runner in the top 50, finishing 48th.

In the women's race, Erin Gemmill was UD’s top finisher, placing 25th in a time of 19:32. Meghan Weaver also was in the top 50, finishing 36th.
