Wellness talk focuses on managing health care

4:55 p.m., July 29, 2003--The Employee Wellness Center is presenting a noontime lecture, “How to Be a Partner in Your Health Care,” with Lisa Shotyk, a nurse educator from Christiana Care, from 12:05-12:55 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20, in 104 Gore Hall.

According to Marianne Carter, director of the center, the program will provide UD employees and retirees with valuable information on how to work with their doctors and manage their health care. All attendees also will receive a free 110-page book, “Self-Care Essentials,” with heath tips for individuals and families.

“In this age of managed care, individuals need to empower themselves with this type of knowledge,” Carter said.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, go to [www.udel.edu/wellness] or call 831-8388.
