Wide range of events planned for parents and families Oct. 31-Nov. 2

4:35 p.m., Oct. 17, 2003--Athletic events, art, ghost walks, a pregame lunch and pep rally, plus a football game against the University of Maine and a musical extravaganza, Calliope VIII, are just some of the fun planned for Parents & Family Weekend at UD, Friday-Sunday, Oct. 31-Nov.2.

Calliope VIII, a one of a kind musical concept presented by the UD Performing Arts Series and the Department of Music, begins when more than 400 student musicians take the stage at 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Bob Carpenter Center for a faced-paced kaleidoscopic showcase. Click here for more information [www.udel.edu/parents].

A second ghost tour has been added at 10 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, departing from Old College. Although both tours are full, those without tickets are welcome to attend the reception and will be accommodated for the tours on a space-available basis that evening. A before-tour reception will be held from 7-10 p.m., on the Old College lawn or the Old College lobby in case of inclement weather.

Ticket order deadline is Oct. 24

Brochures, including ticket order forms, have been sent to all parents and families of undergraduate students. Tickets for special events during the weekend, as noted below, must be ordered by Friday, Oct. 24, to be processed and must be ordered using the ticket order form in the Parents and Family Weekend brochure. The order form also is downloadable from the Parents and Family Weekend web site at [www.udel.edu/parents]. Call 831-8741 or send e-mail to [ud-parents@udel.edu] to request a brochure.

Ticket orders received at the box office after Friday, Oct. 24, will not be processed. If tickets remain and are available for the UD versus Maine football game or Calliope VIII, they may be purchased in person at the University box offices as listed on the above web site. Remaining and available tickets for the pre-game lunch and pep rally and Sunday brunch in the dining halls may be purchased at the door.
