Urban League annual meeting set June 10

1:48 p.m., June 10, 2004--The annual meeting of the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League (MWUL) will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, at the Bank One Center at the Riverfront in Wilmington to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision, Brown vs. Board of Education.

The meeting will feature guest speaker, Ronald O. Ross, president of the Ross Educational Group. An education advocate, Ross received praise as superintendent of the Mount Vernon City school district, which received national acclaim as the most improved school district in New York. He also was the Dr. Israel Tribble Jr. Distinguished Fellow for Urban Education Reform for the National Urban League.

MWUL also will salute Delawareans who worked to integrate racially segregated classrooms in the state.

The meeting is open to the public but registration is required. For more information call 622-4300 or visit [www.mwul.org].
