UD tennis teams sweep LaSalle in doubleheader

11:20 a.m., Oct. 13, 2003--The University of Delaware tennis teams swept a tennis doubleheader from La Salle University on Saturday, the men winning 7-0 and the women 6-1.

In the men's contest, John Tully and Sanjay Khindri of UD each picked up their 35th career wins with straight-set victories. Tully, a junior, is a perfect 11-0 this season, including 7-0 as Delaware's lead player. The men are now 6-2 on the season.

In the women's contest, the Fightin’ Blue Hens ran their match record to 2-2 on the season as Beth Principe won 6-0, 6-0 to earn her 24th career win. A senior, Principe is now 5-3 this season.

Both teams will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 15, when they visit St. Joseph's University at 2:30 p.m.
