Delaware tennis teams drop matches at Lehigh

10:49 a.m., March 1, 2004--Taking to the court for the first time this spring, the University of Delaware men's and women's tennis teams fell to host Lehigh University on Saturday afternoon.

The women’s team fell 6-1 and the men’s team 5-2.

Sari Shuster picked up the lone win for the UD women, downing Gwen Dwyer 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.

For the UD men, Adam Liebman defeated Ryan Lloyd, 7-5, 6-3, and Josh Ditman defeated Alfredo Fernandez-Conana 6-1, 6-4.

In doubles, Ditman and Ari Zweig downed Ty Esler and Fernandez-Concha, 9-7.

The men’s team will visit the University of Maryland for a match at noon, Saturday, March 6.

Both teams will host Lafayette at 3 p.m., Monday, March 8.
