UD alum opens Wilmington art gallery

4:44 p.m., June 7, 2004--A grand opening reception for Studio 600 Art Gallery and Studio, 600 Washington St., Wilmington, will be held 6-10 p.m., Monday, June 7.

Studio 600’s opening exhibit, “600 Artists,” features artwork from local painters, photographers and sculptors who rent space in the new facility.

Gallery director Jeni (Dykes) Barton, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from UD in 2002, said she hopes to help revitalize the Quaker Hill neighborhood with community programs that connect residents through art.
