Help select new Spirit Ambassadors Oct. 7-14

4:10 p.m., Oct. 7, 2003--Nominations are complete, and now is the time to help select UD’s new Spirit Ambassadors, a diverse group of undergraduates who represent the best qualities of UD students. All members of the University community, including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff are invited and encouraged to participate in the polling.

A special online poll will run from 8 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, through 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 14. The opinions of the UD community, including students, faculty and staff, will assist the Selection Committee in making the final Spirit Ambassador selections. To register your opinion, click here.

Spirit Ambassadors work to encourage school spirit through a variety of avenues, including interacting with alumni and supporting the Office of Alumni and University Relations by serving as student hosts at campus events.

Other functions include serving as an advisory board to help senior administrators keep in touch with student concerns, while representing and interacting with student groups and the student body.

The new Student Ambassadors will be announced and recognized from 10:30 p.m.–1 a.m., Friday-Saturday, Oct. 17-18, at Midnight Mania in the Bob Carpenter Center and at halftime of the Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 18.

For more information, including a list of finalists and biographies, as well as a link to the polling form, visit [www.udel.edu/spiritambassadors] or call 831-8741.
