Blue Hen softball team shut out by Villanova 11:48 a.m., April 22, 2004--The University of Delaware softball team was held scoreless as it dropped a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Villanova University. The Fightin Blue Hens lost 1-0 and 3-0, falling to 21-19 on the season as they prepare for a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series against the University of North Carolina Wilmington. The teams will play at noon Saturday and Sunday at Delaware Field, with Saturdays meeting a doubleheader. UNC Wilmington enters the series with a record of 17-34. In Wednesdays opener, Carolynn Sloat took the loss for the Hens, although she allowed just four hits and struck out five Villanova batters. Randi Isaacs had two of UDs three hits.
