Students take a Second Chance Thursday on TLC 12:04 p.m., June 23, 2004--UD was the setting for an episode of cable TVs Second Chance filmed on campus and around town in April, involving two students who had drifted apart and were reunited to see if the spark between them still flickers. Featured on The Leaning Channels daytime line-up, at 1 p.m. weekdays, the episode involving UD seniors Laura Kalb and Mike Maragni will be shown on Thursday, June 21. According to The Learning Channel, Kalb and Maragni dated each other for a year, but their relationship went downhill after Kalb spent a summer studying in Ireland. Maragni wanted to patch things up but found out Kalb was secretly seeing someone else. Its been six months since they have spoken, but Kalb is ready to prove to Maragni that she wants a second chance. Each televised reunion involves an icebreaker so the couple can ease into being with each other again and activities, such as dancing or sailing, that they can do together, plus a setting where they can be alone to decide if they want to pursue a new relationship. Maragni said he was interviewed for the program and was filmed playing roller hockey, having lunch in the Trabant University Center and at a barbecue that evening. He has not viewed the program himself, so tomorrows airing will be a first for him although he does know the outcome. Article by Sue Moncure To learn how to subscribe to UDaily, click here. |
