Marie Hadley Robinson recital set March 6

4:52 p.m., March 3, 2004--Marie Hadley Robinson, associate professor of music at UD, accompanied by pianist Julia Nishimura, will give an art song recital at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 6, in Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.

The concert, sponsored by the Department of Music, will feature songs by Ottrino Respighi, Giacomo Puccini and Richard Strauss, as well a group of spirituals arranged by Edward Boatner, Florence Price, Hall Johnson and Moses Hogan.

Robinson, a Georgia native, made her operatic debut as Aida with the Graz Opera, where she spent three years. Subsequent engagements have taken her all over the world, including performances in Berlin, Prague and Japan.

Robinson also has co-directed several productions at UD, including “The Stoned Guest” and “Trial by Jury.”

Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, and $3 for students. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center and Bob Carpenter Center box offices.
