Paul Wise receives top restaurant industry award
UD students enrolled in the HRIM program. The Cornerstone Award honors the restaurant, business or individual whose hard work, dedication and creativity added luster and prestige to the hospitality industry in Delaware. The nominee must have at least 15 years of service to achieve this lifetime achievement award. Wise graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelors degree in hotel, restaurant and institutional management and received his masters degree in food marketing from Michigan State University. Before coming to UD as the founder and chairperson of HRIM, he was associated with the military, responsible for 670 army clubs and hotels. An active member of many hotel and restaurant associations, Wise was the Pennsylvania State University Hotel and Restaurant Society Alumnus of the Year, is a member of the International Military Club Executive Association Hall of Fame and the Hall of Fame for Outstanding Individual Achievement in the 2000 Governors Tourism Awards. He received the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Motel Associations Lamp of Knowledge Award.
