Make a splash this summer in UDs Outdoor Pool
The pool opens Sunday, May 30. Besides its convenient location behind the Gold Ice Arena, one of the largest outdoor pools in the state has been enhanced with renovated lockers rooms and 250 lounge and sand chairs on a pool deck accentuated with landscaping features and a pair of sliding tubes for kids young and old. Blue Hen fans of all ages also will enjoy occasional poolside visits by UD mascot favorites Baby Blue and YoUDee. Other amenities include a shower, changing facilities, snack bar and a shade-providing Funbrella in the fenced-in baby pool area. Four new Funbrellas and a dining area also have been installed on the main deck. The pool also is equipped with a heater so that swimming early in the season is not a concern. Lessons and swim team memberships also are available at nominal fees. Pool hours are:

Its a good idea to sign up early, because memberships for the past two summers have sold out halfway through the season. Registrations are being accepted from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Fred Rust Ice Arena. UD employees can pay their pool membership fees through payroll deduction.
