Payton Award watch list includes Delaware's Hall

11:30 a.m., Oct. 6, 2003--University of Delaware senior quarterback Andy Hall is one of 16 NCAA I-Division AA football players named to the updated Walter Payton Award watch list by The Sports Network.

Hall, a senior from Cheraw, S.C., was one of seven players added to the list, which is updated periodically during the season to alert voters of the top candidates for the Payton Award, which is presented each December to the top offensive player in Division I-AA football by a vote of member sports information directors. The next list will be announced Oct. 29.

Hall, a second-year transfer from Georgia Tech, has led the Fightin’ Blue Hens to a 5-0 record this season.

Joining Hall on the Payton Watch list are quarterbacks Joe Casamento (Villanova), Bruce Eugene (Grambling), Ryan Fitzpatrick (Harvard), Allen Suber (Bethune-Cookman) and Russ Michna (Western Illinois); running backs Muhammad Abdulqaadir (Southern Illinois), Charles Anthony (Tennessee State), Jermaine Austin (Georgia Southern), Jamaal Branch (Colgate), Ryan Fuqua (Portland State), Jake Shields (Indiana State), Kirwin Watson (Fordham), Vick King (McNeese State) and Marcus Williams (Maine); and wide receiver Tramon Douglas (Grambling).
