Poetry reading by Marilyn Nelson set Nov. 18 4:45 p.m., Nov. 12, 2003--Poet Marilyn Nelson will read from her own work at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18, in 127 Memorial Hall. After the reading, a reception will be held in the Memorial Hall Dome third-floor lounge. Books will be available for purchase at the free public event, which is sponsored by the Department of English. A professor of English at UD, Nelson is the author of six books of poetry including; Magnificat, Mamas Promises, The Homeplace and The Fields of Praise: New and Selected Poems. Her most recent book, Carver: A Life in Poems, received several honors, including being named a Newberry Honor Book and a National Book Award finalist.
