It was UD’s first Colonial Athletic Association men’s soccer victory since the Fightin’ Blue Hens joined the conference in 2002, and it snapped a four-game losing streak.

With the victory, UD improved to 4-10-5 overall and 1-6-2 in the conference. Drexel fell to 6-12-1 overall and 1-7 in the conference.

UD junior David Egosi scored his fourth goal of the season in the 63rd minute when he knocked home a rebound off a shot by freshman Justin Romano.

Hen freshman Kyle Peters secured the victory at 83:03, tapping home a shot by junior Adam Flanigan that went off the hands of Drexel goalkeeper Nick Macri. It was Peters’ first collegiate score.

UD goalkeeper Kyle Haynes had two saves in his 12th career shutout victory.

UD will finish the season by hosting Georgetown University at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Delaware Mini-Stadium. The Hens will honor seniors Stephen Mangat, Nate Danforth and Morgan Funsten.
