Longwood grad student theses presented May 28 12:51 p.m., May 12, 2004--Longwood Graduate Program fellows will present their theses in a daylong event set for Friday, May 28, at Longwood Gardens. The event, which begins with a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. and concludes at 3:30 p.m., will be held at the Longwood Gardens Visitor Center Auditorium. The event will include the following presentations: Education and Public Programs at Canadian Botanical Institutions, by Gerald Dieleman; A Model for Determining the Economic Impact of Public Gardens on Communities, by Adrienne Donald; Motivation of Public Garden Volunteers, by Christie Jones; Effects of Compost-Amended Container Media on Ornamental Plant Growth, by Mark Highland; and Pre-emergent Herbicides for Control of Garlic Mustard, by Mark Richardson. The event is sponsored by the Longwood Graduate Program and is open to the public. Luncheon reservations are required by Wednesday, May 19, and can be made by calling Geraldine Zuka at the Department of Plant and Soil Science at 831-2517.
