May 14 lecture features DuPont vp

4:35 p.m., May 5, 2004--John W. Himes, senior vice president for corporate strategy for DuPont, gives UD’s second Chaplin Tyler Executive Leadership series lecture at 3 p.m., Friday, May 14, in the Chaplin Tyler Atrium in Alfred Lerner Hall.

Himes joined DuPont in 1966 in the marketing section of the textile fibers department and advanced to head Dacron polyesters and then advanced composites. In 1988, he was made vice president of human resources and later became vice president of business development in the Asian Pacific. Before assuming his current position, Himes was named vice president for investor relations. In 1998, he became a member of the company’s operating group.

The lectures are free and open to the public.
