UD mens lacrosse team climbs in national polls 6:12 p.m., March 29, 2004--After defeating two nationally ranked opponents in succession, the University of Delaware mens lacrosse team is making its way up the NCAA Division I polls. The Fightin Blue Hens are 7-2 after victories over the U.S. Air Force Academy, ranked No. 18 at the time, and the University of Maryland Baltimore County, ranked No. 14. UD is ranked No. 16 in the Inside Lacrosse magazine power poll and tied with Loyola College of Maryland for No. 18 in the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll, both of which were announced Monday. In the USILA poll, the University of Maryland is ranked No. 1, followed by Johns Hopkins, Syracuse, Georgetown, which defeated UD 10-5 on March 17, and North Carolina.
